| Raised on the east coast of Canada, Julia now makes her home in Nelson BC. First introduced to clay while teaching and traveling in Japan, she studied at the Kootenay School of Arts, graduating in 2000. Attracted to clay's silken mallebility Julia was drawn to the contemplative process of throwing and the simple and indelible mark of making by hand. She maintains a studio in her home in Nelson.
Julia Gillmor Pottery designs and produces by hand, a production line of functional ceramics which is carried in stores and galleries throughout British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario and the USA.
